All our winter salt spreading and winter gritting is carried out ‘in-house’ with no franchises or sub-contracting of sites, allowing Clearway Gritting to monitor all of its operations very closely in order to maintain exceptionally high standards at all times.
Clearway Gritting is not only well equipped with the most up-to-date and fully automated gritting and salt spreading machines on the market but also has a large selection of cutting edge equipment for the clearance of snow unlike many other gritting companies. As a result of this Clearway Gritting has won many contracts over the past 8 years during times of severe weather.
It is important to clear large amounts of snow before applying salt and grit in order to ensure maximum efficiency at all times.
The spreading of salt onto large amounts of snow will only cause a small amount of snow to melt which in turn will form into ice due to the excessive water present, together with cold temperatures and rapid dilution of the salt solution this often results in a far greater hazard.
Clearway Gritting has taken on numerous winter salt spreading and gritting contracts over the past 8 years due to our clients’ former suppliers gritting excessively throughout cold periods, regardless of atmospheric humidity.
Salt stays on the ground and remains effective unless rain or snow has fallen or severe traffic movements occur.
Clearway Gritting has organised its annual refresher training for all drivers to ensure all our team are familiar with our gritting vehicles
