As part of our continued commitment to our clients, we are pleased to announce that we have renewed our contract with The Met Office to provide us with this important service. The Met Office are world renowned for providing accurate weather information and have one of the world’s largest data collection networks to support their service. We have confidence that their 20 years’ experience in delivering accurate information for road gritting services will continue to provide the support we need to deliver our high quality and proactive road gritting service.
Our contract with the Met Office provides us with the ability to understand the regional forecasts and predictions of our clients and, if necessary, we can focus attention down to a specific site. This level of detail offers us unprecedented accuracy for our proactive gritting service. The 24 hour service also offers us with a breakdown in 1 and 3 hour intervals. We are able to understand:
- minimum road surface temperature
- state of the road
- potential quantity of snowfall
